A close moment does not establish commitment. Aftercare is the way both people agree to check in and settle afterward.
After a close moment, one person may want to cuddle, another may want water, and another may want quiet. None of those responses means the moment was wrong.

Make the next step mutual too
If you want to check in tomorrow, say so directly.
If you want space, say that too. Honest landing is better than guessing.
